Manitoba PNP Issues the Biggest Draw of the Year!

The draw consisted of an invitation to 419 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. Here’s more to it.

This has been the highest number of invitations that the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program has sent this year. The program invited international graduates and skilled workers to apply for any one of the below streams.

• Skilled Workers Overseas
• Skilled Workers in Manitoba
• International Education Stream

Here’s a breakup of the 419 invitations (also termed Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA)), along with their minimum Expression of Interest Scores (EOI) that MPNP sent on December 17, 2020.

Around 37 out of 419 invitations sent, went to Express Entry Candidates. As informed by MPNP, candidates that do not hold a valid Express Entry ID, a valid job seeker validation code, and verifiable experience in a profession listed on Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations list, will be refused. Additionally, the program will only consider Skilled Worker Overseas candidates, who’ve got a direct invitation under a strategic recruitment initiative.

What Should People who did not receive an LAA, Despite a Higher Score than the Minimum Ranking do?

Some candidates, despite scoring higher than the minimum EOI score, did not receive an LAA. Here are some of the possible reasons to it,

• Their language test is no longer valid
• Their third-party language test did not have valid test number
• The individual may have been invited under a strategic recruitment initiative. However, he or she did not send a valid invitation number.

As informed by MPNP, candidates who fall in any of the above categories can update their EOI profile with the appropriate information, to be considered for the upcoming draw.

How is Manitoba’s EOI System?

Candidates wanting to immigrate to Canada through MPNP must register an EOI with MPNP to receive an invitation through streams that include Skilled Workers Overseas and Skilled Workers in Manitoba. As per MPNP, these candidates are ranked out of 1000 points on human capital characteristics such as Manitoba connections, educational qualification, work experience, English or French language skills, Manitoba connections, etc.
